In deep mourning we inform you today about the death of our company founder Ursula Ida Lapp. She passed away on 25.04.2021 at the age of 90.

With the unexpected death of Ursula Ida Lapp, the entire LAPP Group mourns the loss of the company’s founder. Ursula Ida Lapp was an entrepreneur with heart and drive. Together with her husband Oskar, Ursula Ida Lapp founded U.I. Lapp KG, named after her, in 1959. She was thus a pioneer of German industry. Today, the Lapp Group is the world’s leading supplier of connection solutions. Ursula Ida Lapp’s life is a Swabian entrepreneurial biography of world renown.
Political, social and cultural commitment were also always a matter close to her heart. Together with her sons and grandchildren, she was one of the most important supporters of cardiological research in Germany through the Oskar Lapp Foundation. Ursula Ida Lapp was also active in the regional parliament for four years. Ursula Ida Lapp has received many awards for her achievements as an entrepreneur as well as for her social commitment, including the Federal Cross of Merit and the Business Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
She exemplified to the end what it means to put the customers at the centre. But the most important good for her at all times was her family and she passed this on to her employees. With her commitment to society and the company, she will always be a role model.
